The Vegaster 7: Top 7 Bars For Anyone in Vegas
Press: Inside of the Four Seasons is a little known sophisticated spot where you can sit back and sip on your drink in style. Press is the ultimate in Vegas lobby bars, offering a spot around the bar or outside around the pool. Check them out every night of the week after 9 when they serve half price Stella drafts and flatbreads.
Drink Pick: After the drafts we all tried a few classic cocktails for a classic setting and the Cosmo won hands down.
Bar at Times Square: Part of New York-New York of course, the Bar at Times Square is a throwback to the piano bar, the dueling variety. There are a number of these found in Vegas, but none that do it with that sultry attitude that you only find in Times Square. $5 drink specials are from 3 to 7 during the week in case you need some liquid courage to sing along to “friends in low places”.
Drink Pick: Those $5 drink specials on ice cold Heinekens on tap.
The Lady Silvia: The official Vegas Speakeasy, Lady Silvia manages to combine old school charm with modern comfort. The only bad thing about this Vegas bar is trying to find it, but that’s what you have Vegaster for. Get Happy everyday from 5 to 7 with 3 buck beers and 4 dollar well drinks. Once you get your buzz on in one of their cozy couches, that club stuff won’t seem worth it.
Drink Pick: The signature Lady Silvia was good, but we gave the Surrealist best drink nod. Barsol Pisco and Green Chartreuse? That is a surreal combo.
Stage Door: This is the Vegas version of a dive bar. Dirty, smoky and full of locals getting their full of $3 Jaeger shots. Attached to a convenience store, you will find Stage Door just a chips throw away from Bally’s. Filled to the brim with slot machines and video poker, this Vegas secret is the way to go if you are ballin’ Vegas on a budget.
Drink Pick: $3 Jaeger shots with $2 draft chasers. Does it really get any better than that?
Four Kegs: If you want Vegas sports bar, Four Kegs is it. This is not a throw a jersey on the wall kinda’ sports bar, but an authentic let’s sponsor some local teams kinda’ joint. Not only are you going to get an ice cold one off the tap, you can get some Stromboli to go with it. Four Kegs also serves a wide variety of food at the bar, at a table or in its spacious family room.
Drink Pick: This ended up being a lunch stop for us, so the drink of choice was the draft that washed down our pizza.
The Chandelier at the Cosmopolitan: The epitome of Vegas upscale, without being pretentious, check out this diamond of a hotel bar at the Cosmo. With crystals hanging from all the right places, being inside of the Chandelier is like.. well being inside of a chandelier. Posh décor aside, this bar serves a vast array of sophisticated cocktails to sip on that will make you feel all warm and glowy inside.
Drink Pick: Thai Down. We had to go for something a bit more chic here, and this tequila based drink infused with Thai basil, strawberries and ginger was pinky out perfection.
Hofbrauhaus: You really haven’t drank a beer until you have banged your stein on a wooden table. The Hofbrauhaus brings the German beer hall to Vegas complete with long tables, large glasses and beautiful Frauleins prancing about. Hofbrauhaus is authentic Bavarian, presenting live entertainment every night and a beer garden out in back. Not like any other bar you have ever been to (unless you’ve been to Germany) this is a must try if good beer and good times is what you have in mind.
Drink Pick: Uh, Duh. Whichever draft you choose, just make sure you go for the stein, bang it on the table when done and scream “more beer here!”
There really is a bar for everyone in Vegas, whether it be that homey dive bar or a hoity toity drink with the pinky out kind of place. If you don’t see a bar that tickles your fancy here, have no fear, Vegaster can help. Just let us know what you want in a bar, and we will make sure that you find it.
