Killing Your Vegas Time While the Sun’s Up
With pool season closed, and the dayclubs with them, you are going to have to find new ways to whittle away the days in Vegas before the shows start and the nightclubs open. There is life off of the strip, and most of it is pretty darn exciting. So you won’t catch a chick in a bikini, but maybe you can do some laps in Lamborghini.
It’s not often that you get to be carted around in a helicopter so why not make your virgin voyage over the Las Vegas strip. Maverick helicopters has a long standing history of taking groups to the Grand Canyon, over the desert or even just to get a birds eye view of the Bellagio fountains. The terminal is right by the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign on the southern end of the boulevard but if you need directions, Vegaster has you covered.
Grand Canyon- Hoover Dam
Use that helicopter trip to go and see the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam. This might sound a bit touristy to your group, but it is a trip worth taking at least. Plus you get to ride in a cool helicopter. If you don’t want to fly you can also rent a bus for the day. That’s a lot more to do once you get there than ooh and ahh, you can ride a donkey, take a boat tour or a have a picnic. This is a different take on Vegas that gets you outside enjoying some fresh air.
Exotic Car Racing
What’s the first thing you’d buy if you hit it big in the casino? A hot car of course. Well, since that ain’t likely to happen, go ahead and at least drive one. There are a number of racetracks around Vegas that let you try your racing skills in an exotic car. Try out a Ferrari or step it up a notch with the McLaren. You can even hit the pavement in an Aston Martin. Race your buddies like you’re at the Indy for a different kind of Vegas experience.
The ultimate manly man experience is to try out one of the many gun ranges just outside of the city. Handguns, rifles, machine guns. You name it and you can shoot it. Even a grenade launcher. Some of the ranges will even pick you up at your hotel so you don’t have to worry about rental cars or getting lost. You know this is something you’ve dreamed of doing since the first time you saw Rambo, and now you’re in Vegas, so go for it.
If you want to shoot at your friends instead of with them, spend an afternoon playing Rambo and shooting globs of paint at each other. Your buddy got the hot girl you wanted last night, let him have it with yellow paint right in the face.
Vegas has evolved into a vacation paradise with hundreds of different things to do and see. Make it a point to try out something new each time you’re in town and start kicking down your bucket list.
