Vegas Attractions Worth Taking a Second Look At
So much time is spent talking about all there is to DO in Vegas, we forget how much there is to SEE. Vegas defines the new renaissance city, with its fine dining, rocking night (and day) life, and a long list of places to go that stimulate the mind. You won’t find the Mona Lisa hanging out anywhere in Vegas – unless that’s someone’s drag name – but you will find plenty of other amazing sights to gawk at.
Shark Reef Aquarium – There’s something peaceful about watching thousands of fish happily splashing around in millions of gallons of water, even if some of them would bite your head off if given the chance. The Mandalay Bay has 14 different aquatic exhibits, each featuring incredible collections of sea animals, including sting rays, turtles and of course sharks.
Penske-Wynn Ferrari Maserati – If you want to visualize your dream of winning big at craps, take a walk over to the Wynn. The only factory authorized Ferrari dealer in the state is happy to let you walk around and dream big. Run your fingers over the hood of a Ferrari 430 Coupe, or awe at the precision engine inside of an Indy race car. You can even have your picture taken sitting pretty on the fine leather seats, and send it home for the perfect jealously shot.
The Mob Museum – Little known facts and secrets about the mob, Las Vegas and the FBI are all exposed at the Mob Museum. With 3 floors of amazing and unique exhibits to take in, you can easily get lost in the rich history of our sordid past for hours. Located downtown, this is a good way to kill time before happy hour begins.
The Neon Museum – The best works of art you’ll find in Vegas are all done in neon. The Neon Museum pays tribute to this art form by taking on the retired signs and keeping them alive and on display. This is a non-profit organization that will take you on a guided tour through dozens of old symbols of Vegas’ bright past.
Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens – This 1 always makes out list! Take a walk through the conservatory at the Bellagio on each Vegas visit, and you will never run into the same sight twice. The displays, making very creative use of trees, shrubs and flowers, are all changed seasonally with each one doing its best to top off the last. Making this an even better feast for the eyes is that it’s open 24/7, and for free.
The Wildlife Habitat – The only zoo you’ll find in Vegas is during a Saturday afternoon beach party, but you can find other species of wildlife hanging more peacefully at the Flamingo. If you are searching for some free peace and tranquility after a night out on the strip, walk among the flamingos, turtles and fish just chillin’ at this oasis in the middle of Vegas.
Take some time out from the party attitude and take some time to look at the other side of Vegas. This is a rich town in a million ways, rivaling big cities around the world with an array of unique ways to spend your vacation time.
