The Wynn’s Le Reve is the Vegas Show That We All Dream Of

A show that almost entirely takes place inside of a 1.1 million gallon tank of water should be a nightmare to pull off, yet at The Wynn Resort it comes across as a dream. Le Reve is an original production that rivals Cirque with its calming beauty and heart racing theatrics. If you want to see a show that mesmerizes from start to finish, let your dreams come true at Le Reve.

In case you failed high school French, Le Reve is the word for a dream, which is exactly what creator Franco Dragone wants you to feel like you are in as you watch his story unfold. The man behind many Cirque Du Soleil productions – including Vegas’ O and Mystere- Dragone has choreographed a majestic show, put it into the water and created a living dream.

Unlike most of the Cirque shows, there is a story behind Le Reve, as a beautiful lady in red slumbers on stage and lets us explore her wildest subconscious inhibitions. The imagery is inspired by a work of art of the same name, painted by Picasso in 1932. This painting of Picasso’s mistress was once owned by Steve Wynn and Le Reve was originally going to be the name of his dreamy Vegas resort. My guess is ego got in the way there.

Instead of just using the name, the resort brought the painting to life, using titillating theatrics both in and out of the water. The show leaves you on the edge of your seat as divers drop from 800 feet, aerialists zoom over head and elaborate dance moves take place inside of the wet theater in the round.

Seeing it once is never enough, as the choreography is changed periodically, much like a dream changes. For 2015 a new act has been unveiled – Denouement – giving you even more reason to dive into this spectacular show. Since its debut in 2005 it has been recognized 4 times for being the best production in Las Vegas. Performers have also made several TV appearances including on SyFy’s Face Off, America’s Got Talent, and Somebody’s Gotta Do It on CNN.

The mystique of Le Reve, its story, theatrics, and choreography all blend together perfectly to create a mesmerizing dream that you won’t want to awaken from. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Le Reve and if you’re coming to Vegas, this fantasy show will be the highlight of your trip.
