More New Stuff in Vegas You May Have Missed
As if it constructed of desert sand, rather than on it, Las Vegas is constantly changing form. It seems like every time we turned around, something was being torn down or reworked into something totally new. Here’s just a sampling of some places you can start adding to that Vegas bucket list:
HQCocktail Lounge – If you’ve walked through the Cosmopolitan in the last few weeks, you may have noticed the unsightly black curtain hanging up where Book & Stage Lounge used to be. Yet have no fear, same firm who had a hand at the Giada's Restaurant and Drai’s Beach Club are creating a new concept to fit the space. So far, the word on the street is that the new HQ Cocktail Lounge will be serving drinks by sometime in September.
Vista Cocktail Lounge at Caesars Palace – If not for the “maybe their naked dancers” shadowed in the curtains, you might have missed the closing of The Shadow Bar at Caesars earlier this year. Make a point to get a whole different type of view at the new Vista Cocktail Lounge that took its place. The music is right for talking, the drinks right for a buzz and the views are to die for. LED screens are displayed to look like windows, with skylines from around the world on constant display. If you start thinking you’re really looking at Big Ben, and not a picture, those buzzing drinks have served their purpose.
The Venue- The Venue opened up downtown this summer, and promises to be THE place to hold your next hoity toity event. The first floor features a lounge and bar area that is open to anyone, while the second and third are reserved for catered affairs. Beautifully designed with luxury features, this is a good alternative to the Vegas drive through wedding.
Lucky Dragon Hotel and Casino – On again, off again construction at the soon to be Lucky Dragon Hotel site is underway, with plans to have the boutique hotel up and running by next year. Located on the northern end of the strip, the Lucky Dragon Hotel is said to be Asian-themed (duh) with even its signage being designed in English and Chinese. Vegaster will keep you up to date on the opening information so that you can be sure to be one of the firsts to experience this merger of the east and west.
Flippin’ Good Burgers and Shakes – The big reveal has finally been made on the new burger joint taking over the downtown spot that used to be Uncle Joe’s Pizza and Kabob Korner. Expect a fresh selection of burgers and fries - and by fresh we mean there’s no freezer or microwave in the kitchen – along with an array of frozen custard concoctions when Flippin’ Good Burgers and Shakes opened its doors on the 28th.
It’s that constant moving and shifting that makes each trip to Vegas a fresh one. Keep Vegaster at the tip of your fingers, and we’ll keep you up to date on all the new spots you should be checking out or into.
