What to Do, What to Do? Is There Life in Vegas When Pool Season Ends?

With summer coming to a close, the 2016 pool party season in Vegas will close as well. Although dictated by the Nevada weather, you can expect that the partying in a bikini will be over for all of the clubs by the end of October. And then what? Skip Vegas for the next 6 months? No way, even without the beach, Vegas still has plenty to do for insomniacs.

Unknown to many is the ski resort that is just 45 minutes away from the strip. Mount Charleston is host to a whole bunch of winter themed sports from skiing to snowboarding and even sledding. The snow starts falling in November and keeps going until April, making frolics in the white stuff a perfect alternative to frolicking around the pool.

Yes, you can still hear the slot machines from the mountain.

There is winter sport fun to be had inside of the city as well. Each year ice rinks pop up around the Vegas, giving the typical pool partier something else to try. In past years, the Cosmopolitan and Caesar’s Palace have both had afternoon rink time. More notable is the Venetians floating ice rink which moves along the canal as you move along the ice.

If you absolutely don’t feel right unless at least a part of your Vegas vacation is spent barely dressed, treat yourself to an all day spa treatment. Almost all of the major hotels are home to a relaxing spa within, such as the Encore Resort and it's 5 star The Spa at Encore. This is the crème de la crème in Vegas spa treatments, but when you figure the cost against what you were paying for bottle service at the Encore Beach Club in July, you come out about even.

Nothing better than a great spa day!

If you can’t wear your bathing suit, you can always shop for one for the 2015 dayclub season. There are plenty of malls and shops to explore around Vegas, but none quite as distinct as the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Not only are you shopping like a Greek God, you are surrounded by unique Romanesque architecture, an aquarium and larger than life statues that animate to give you a free show.

You could of course check out a casino. Remember those? Those are those places you walk through to get to the dayclub. Gambling is not just for the jet setting billionaires, you too can spend the day throwing chips down on Blackjack or trying your luck at slots. Scantily clad waitresses will bring you free drinks, its warm and you get treated like a Vegas VIP. Not a bad way to whittle away a winter day in Vegas.

The Vegas beach club scene will re-open for the 2015 season sooner than you think. In the meantime, there is no reason why you have to avoid your favorite city just because of some winter chill. With the pools closed for the year, you have the chance to finally see what else goes on in Vegas during the day.
