5 Spots to Stay on the Strip Without Breaking Your Bank
Staying on the strip does not have to strip your budget. Really, if you think about it, all you really need is a shower to get ready in, a mirror to make sure you look good, and a bed to crash on every 16 hours or so. Is that small amount of time really worth killing your Vegas budget for? When it comes to your Vegas home for the holiday, there are just two things you want to think about, cheap (but no fleas) and location.
New York – New York – Part of the MGM conglomerate, the New York-New York is surprisingly low considering the frills and thrills. With prices that can go as low as $55 a night, you get a miniature version of the Big Apple, but with gambling. Even the smallest room at the NewYork-New York fits two queen sized beds, making this an even better choice if travelling with friends to split the bill with.
The Linq Hotel & Casino – Smack dab in the middle of the strip, The Linq Hotel personifies the importance of location. For $52 a night, you get two double beds in a smaller sized room, and the entire strip right outside the front doors. Low rates and no worries about cab fare equals more money to spend at the Brooklyn Bowl
Bally’s – On the older side, yet still modern, Bally’s also has that center of the strip appeal and rooms that go as low as forty bucks. You’ll be seconds away from BLT Steak, and the legendary Sunday morning Sterling Brunch, which you’ll crave after a Saturday night at the nearby Drai’s. Don’t forget to sneak a peek at Bally’s Jubilee, the only authentic topless revue still kicking on the strip.
Harrah’s – Not only is Harrah’s on the strip, and all of the unbridled revelry that brings, it has a monorail stop. This means that with your $37 room, you have easy access to everywhere on the strip, from the mega sized MGM’s Wet Republic all the way down to the new SLS where you can get a taste of LiFE.
Flamingo Hotel & Casino – Another stop on the monorail, the Flamingo brings you closer to old school Vegas better than any other hotel on or off of the strip. A direct descendant of Bugsy’s dream hotel, the newer Flamingo still exudes that old world charm. 45 clams gets you a luxury room with a king sized bed and easy access to the rest of the strip. Or skip that zoo for a day and hang out with some real animals in the Flamingo’s unique wild life preserve out back.
Room rates change all of the time, depending on what’s going on in Vegas and the days of the week. No matter where you stay, you’ll be paying top dollar if, for example, you are in town during Rock in Rio or the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. But even then, these hotels will still have the best rates in town, right in the middle of all the action.
