4 Of Vegas’ Best Helicopter Tours
The word tour does not typically invoke feelings of excitement and adventure in the Vegaster Vegas visitor, but when you throw the word helicopter out there, the heart starts to race. How often will you have the chance to hover over this splendid city, or better yet, one of the largest natural wonders in the world? If you’re looking for something out of the box to do on your next foray into town, look into one of these helicopter tours:
Grand Canyon Helicopter & West Rim Hualapai Indian Adventure Tour
Leave the neon lights behind as you fly off in a state of the art helicopter to fly over the Hoover dam, and then glide through the inside of the Grand Canyon. You will get unobstructed views of the Fortification Hills and Black Canyon as well as the Colorado River. Birdie lands at the West Rim where shuttle buses await to take you to see the Hualapai Indian Ranch and maybe do a rain dance.
This is a 5 hour adventure tour run by 5 Star Helicopter tours that includes pickup and drop off at your hotel, all for around $499 per person.
Jack of Lights Strip Tour
You’ve traipsed the strip and even gone downtown, but you haven’t seen Vegas until you see it glittering from above. A limo picks you up at your hotel, and they get you liquored up on a glass of champagne before you sit back and fly over all of the Vegas attractions. Think the Bellagio Fountains are awesome? Wait ‘til you see them from up top.
This is a 15-minute helicopter ride in a bird that has wraparound windows to give you an unobstructed view. Grand Canyon Tours runs this one with tickets at about $119 per person.
The Grand Canyon Combo – Drive, Fly & Float
This is an all day adventure, starting with a luxurious ride through the dessert in a Tour Trekker, heading towards the Grand Canyon. Once there, a helicopter is on hand to take you 4,000 feet down into the canyon and see the colorful rock formations right at your nose. Then it’s a boat ride down the Colorado River before a barbecue lunch, the chance to walk across the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West, and a visit to the Indian Ranch before boarding back in your SUV and back to the strip.
This is an 11-hour day hosted by PINK Jeep Tours that costs just about $435 for each person. The trip includes two separate helicopter rides at the Grand Canyon, along with guided tours of the entire area.
Wind Dancer Sunset
If you are looking for something unique to kick a Vegas night off, then this sunset tour will have you covered. The helicopter takes you to and then inside the Grand Canyon before dropping down at the Indian Ranch for snacks and drinks. After watching the sun fall over the desert, it is back in the bird and back to a whole different type of neon light show, which you will get a quick tour of before landing.
The whole trip takes about 4.5 hours and costs about $569 per person from Maverick Tours. They get you back to your hotel just in time for a quick dinner before heading to the nightclub.
Toss your fear to the wind, man up and take to the skies the next time you’re in town. Seeing Vegas and beyond from above gives you a whole new perspective of how incredible the city, and its surroundings, really is.
